Update-A malpractice suit that Hunter filed against the former Nevada therapist for her children, has now come to an end, and Hunter (sadly) has apparently lost BIG Time.
According to OnPoint News, Hunter may now “have to pay over $750,000 in damages AND attorney fees to a Shanna Downing LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) from a complaint that Hunter originally filed back four years ago, in April 2006.

Hunter as Taylor on Bold and Beautiful
Hunter filed the complaint according to Onpoint news, due to her belief that Downing provided “negligent treatment of her children.”
The original filing of the complaint against this therapist arose out of sessions that were conducted with Tylo’s children because Hunter and her ex-husband Michael Tylo were going through a tumultuous divorce.
However, in the middle of the suit, Hunter’s lawyer Patricia Vaccarino suddenly withdrew from the case and then two more lawyers withdrew from representing her in this matter as well, the most recent stepping down in December of 2009.
Hunter had to then take on the case pro se or represent herself in the suit. A few weeks back, the judge in the case, Judge Timothy C. Williams, granted the defendant, Shanna Downing’s motion for summary judgement on her countersuit against Tylo (oh yeah I almost forgot: this therapist sued Hunter back), in which she alledged “abuse of process” which is like malicious prosecution (kind of like “hey you’re suing me for payback ?” kind of thing).
In legal papers, Mrs.Downing alleged that Hunter only filed the suit as a result of Downing not testifying in the divorce proceedings on her behalf back in 2005 /2006, and basically after that it was ON!
In the end, the judge sided with the therapist, who claimed in her countersuit, that because Hunter sued her-she had to seek help and hire her own therapist, to deal with all the emotional stress this all brought up. (Don’t laugh, I know it all sounds weird)
Downing’s attorney, Michael J. Shannon, said in a recent hearing that Hunter had “missed many discovery deadlines and was absent during several depositions” for the case.
He describes Hunter as becoming “kind of non-responsive”.
Mr. Shannon feels that his client, could now win a substantial judgement of around $850,000 which would “reflect another year of litigation.”
The other defendant in Hunter Tylo’s suit-Horizon Family Therapy and Wellness has also filed to have their attorney’s fee’s awarded to them, while Vaccarino got a judgement of $61,912 against Tylo in 2008.
So, this may have been why Taylor’s MIA on our screens on B&B, Hunter busy with this legal tug of war, four years going through this? Wow.
That can’t be the ending she was expecting, but I do hope Hunter does the right thing (financially) and puts this all behind her as a long, drawn out but sometime needed lesson: The legal system is a CRAZY CRAZY thing, you might win one HUGE battle (The Spelling Lawsuit), but you will never win all the wars (especially if you’re not coming FULLY prepared to fight). IMO, what do you think???
