November is National Epilepsy Awareness Month, Soaps.com thought we would highlight Hunter Tylo’s (Taylor, B&B) active role in helping others understand the condition. Since her son’s tragic death, Hunter has joined with American Epilepsy Outreach Foundation to raise public awareness about Epilepsy. Together they created PSAs to educate the public on the facts of Epilepsy so they know how to react when someone has a seizure.

As stated by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Epilepsy affects an estimated 2.7 million people in the U.S. and 50 million people worldwide.  Almost 200,000 new cases are diagnosed in the U.S. each year and as there is no cure for Epilepsy, more than one-third of those being treated continue to have seizures. It is reported that nearly 42,000 deaths are a result of seizure-related accidents, much like Hunter’s son.

Aside from her PSAs, Hunter has also lent her support to the First Annual Wings of Hope Benefit, participated in the Change the Face Race in Chicago and lists information and links to Epilepsy related websites on her own site.
